Yes. You can pick outside only, or inside and outside. We don't do inside only. For inside windows, we move light furniture out of the way if you haven't. We take the flyscreens off and put them back as we go.

We plug a water filter into your outside tap. It makes pure water. First we go over the frames and glass with a soft brush and pure water. Then we mop and squeegee each pane by hand so there are no streaks. For high windows we use a long pole, so no one has to lean a ladder on your glass. Stubborn water marks come off with very fine steel wool.

Most of the time, yes. White marks from sprinklers, sea air, and rain come off with fine steel wool and pure water. If the marks have eaten into the glass itself, cleaning won't fix it. That glass needs polishing or replacing, and we will tell you if that is the case.

The main risks are streaks or missed spots that only show up when the light changes, scratches from the wrong tools, torn flyscreens, and drips on the floor when we do inside windows. We use pure water and squeegee every pane by hand to stop streaks. If you spot a problem after we leave, even after rain the next day, tell us within a week and we will come back and fix it.

For most Sydney homes, once every 6 to 12 months keeps the glass looking good. Homes near the beach, on a busy road, near building work, or under trees get dirty faster. They do better with a clean every 3 to 6 months. A sheltered home away from roads and trees can go longer. The biggest mistake we see is leaving it too long. The longer the grime sits, the harder it is to get off.

You can do it yourself. A good squeegee costs about $50, a mop $40, rags $20, cleaner $5, and a pole $70 to $80. A two-storey home also needs a ladder and a longer pole. Most people find that without pure water and the right method they end up with streaks and missed corners. If you would rather skip the hassle and the cost of the tools, get us in.

Some cleaners are cheaper because they work alone with low costs, pay their workers less, skip the flyscreens or tracks, or use quick methods that leave water marks. Some have no insurance. If something breaks or someone gets hurt at your home, you may not be covered. We have $20 million public liability insurance and workers' cover. Every cleaner is police checked and trained to work at heights.

If your home is sheltered and away from busy roads, trees, and building work, your windows may only need a clean now and then. Apartments are a bit different. We clean the inside glass and any outside glass we can reach from the balcony. The rest is set up through your strata with our rope-access partner. And if you just want the cheapest price, not a proper streak-free job, we are probably not the right fit.

We charge per panel. It starts at $22 a panel for a single-storey home, $28 for two storeys and $30 for three. The more panels you have, the less you pay per panel:

• 1 to 9 panels: full price
• 10 to 19 panels: 10% off
• 20 to 29 panels: 18% off
• 30 to 49 panels: 25% off
• 50 or more: 30% off

We use a long water-fed pole with a stiff brush and pure, filtered water. Pure water dries without leaving marks, so we don't need soap or chemicals. Stuck-on lichen or droppings come off with a plastic scraper. We never use metal. We finish with a rinse of filtered water and take before and after photos. Your system stays on the whole time.

Where we can, we work from the ground with a long pole. If we need to get on the roof, we wear a helmet and a harness, with a rope tied to a roof beam or a roof anchor. We clean the panel edges only where we can reach them safely. We do this every day, and we are trained and insured to work at heights.

It depends on how dirty the panels were. Numbers of 5 to 15 percent get talked about a lot, but we don't promise a figure, because every roof is different. What we can say is that dirt, lichen and droppings block sunlight, and a panel that gets more sun makes more power.

Most Sydney homes do well with a clean once a year. Homes near the beach, under trees, near a busy road or under a flight path get dirty faster and do better every 6 months. The best time is late spring, after the pollen and before the long summer days when your panels make the most power. If you can't see any dirt, lichen or droppings on the panels, they probably don't need a clean yet.

You can, but we don't recommend it. Roofs are dangerous, and most falls at home happen from ladders and roofs. Tap water also leaves white marks on the glass when it dries, so the panels often look worse, not better. If you do want to do it yourself, stay on the ground, use a soft brush on a pole, and never use a pressure washer or anything sharp.

No. We use only pure water, a soft or stiff brush and a plastic scraper. There are no chemicals and no pressure washing. Most panel makers say to keep panels clean and to avoid harsh tools, which is exactly what we do. If we see a cracked panel or damaged wiring, we tell you and suggest you call an electrician. We don't touch the wiring ourselves.

Yes. We clean ground-mounted panels, panels on flat roofs and panels on sheds and garages. We also do commercial systems, and can do site inductions and supply safety paperwork if your site needs it. The one thing we don't do is panels built into the roof tiles themselves.

Yes. Pigeons love nesting under solar panels. We fit a mesh around the edge of the panels that clips on with no screws or glue, and clear out any nests first. Book bird proofing with your panel clean and you save 10% on both.

If your panels were cleaned not long ago, or you can't see any dirt, lichen or droppings on them, you can probably wait. If your panels are built into the roof tiles, we can't help. And if you are fully comfortable and safe cleaning them from the ground yourself, you may not need us.

We fit a strong plastic mesh all the way around the edge of your panels. It clips under the panel frame, so there are no screws, no glue and no drilling. First we clear out any nests, feathers and droppings. Any eggs or chicks are moved to a safe spot. Once the mesh is on, the birds have no way in.

We charge by the metre of mesh around your panels: $33 a metre for a single-storey home, $38 for two storeys and $35 for strata. Prices include GST and there is no minimum charge.

It is the distance around the outside edge of your panels. Panels are about 1 metre wide and 1.7 metres tall, so a row of 10 panels needs about 24 metres of mesh around it, and 20 panels in two rows is roughly 48 metres. Our price calculator works it out from your panel count and layout. We confirm the exact figure by phone with a look at your roof online, so there is no site visit.

No. The mesh clips under the panel frame. Nothing is screwed, glued or drilled into your panels or your roof, so your warranty stays as it was. It also does not touch the glass or the wiring.

About 10 years. The mesh is made to handle the Australian sun, so it will not rust, crack or fade. It needs no upkeep. If a clip ever works loose, tell us and we will come back and fix it.

No. The mesh stops birds nesting under the panels, which is where the real damage happens. Birds flying past can still leave droppings on top. That is why many people book a solar panel clean at the same time, and get 10% off both.

Mesh. It closes off the gap under the panels completely and looks tidy from the ground. Spikes are good for narrow ledges and the tops of downpipes where birds like to sit, but they cannot seal the space under a solar array.

If you hear cooing, see pigeons sitting on your roof most days, or notice feathers and droppings near the panels, yes, and the sooner the better. Once pigeons settle in, one pair becomes many, and every week adds more mess to clear. If you never see birds on your roof, you can probably wait.

That is the most common job we do. We clear out the nests and the mess first, move any eggs or chicks to a safe spot, then fit the mesh so the birds cannot get back in. The clean-up is included in the price.

Most homes take 3 to 4 hours, up to 5 for a big system or a lot of nest mess. You don't need to be home. We work with a helmet, a harness and a rope tied to your roof, and we leave the roof and the ground tidy.

We don't offer a formal written warranty, but we stand by the job. If a bird finds a way in or a clip works loose, let us know and we will come back and fix it.
